We went down to Lake Siskiyou to watch the fireworks last night or  than that we stayed home and worked around here. While at the lake I was sitting in my chair on at the beach reading the Siskiyou Dining Guide for 2006 and noticed you were not in it. The couple next to me saw what I was reading and asked if I had heard about this little restaurant over in Dorris that they had been told about by friends in Mt. Shasta. So the word is getting around on you guys and I gave you a glowing review. I told them you were one of the best places north of San Francisco. Truly a place to go over an eat and beats anyplace in Mt. Shasta. I'll be heading your way real soon,.......

Hey Guys!   If you are looking for a spot to have good food and wouldn't suspect in the world that it would be found where it is, look again. I was visiting in Dorris CA a couple of weekends ago and went to dinner in this restaurant called "The Hospitality Dinner House and Pub". The restaurant is only open on weekends and Fridays for lunch, but I think if you are looking for a day trip, this is a place that I would highly recommend. These folks also run a B and B. I haven't stayed there, but it looks from the outside that they have done a very nice job of renovation on an old building. I'm attaching a flyer for the restaurant and Inn. If you would post this on your bulletin boards, maybe some of your staffs would be interested in trying the place out. Remember from Redding it is only a 2 ½ hour drive and of course for the Chico folks slightly further. (No, I don't get any gratuity for sending people up that way).

Hi Jeff and Donna,

That was a supurb meal we had at your restaurant Saturday evening!  To think of it, this is how the Olive Garden got started.  Susan and I will return, not only the two of us, but with guests, too!  Susan and I wish you much pleasure and enjoyment from this venture.

You will certainly see us again, and again - All four of us at our table were really "wowed" by the meals and settings.

It is literally impossible to find a restaurant which is interested in truly satisfying the clients they serve.  I honestly "grade" a restaurant by the knowledge the server has of the menu and the cook, the interest the server has in satisfying my taste, and the interest in having me come back to try a "new dish".

I know of a restaurant in San Francisco that has the whole staff sit down to a sampling of the food to be served that night.  That way everyone knows what the "faire" is for the night.

I may have shared a restaurant experience I had, also in San Francisco:  Thanksgiving Day, a kosher Jewish restaurant.  The only thing they were serving that day was their "Thanksgiving Menu".  It was a nine course mean, with many, many choices of food within each course.  Neither the person I was with, or myself, had a clue as to what to order in a Jewish restaurant.  So, we asked the waitress to choose for us.  She was so excited because no one had ever asked her to do this before.  She asked Chris and I about our tastes in spices, me veggie, Chris wasn't, and other things.  She made two choices for each coarse, and the food she brought complimented (except when there was meat/fish in it, obviously).  It was a fantastic meal, and I certainly wasn't afraid to tip her accordingly.

As you can see, I enjoy going to a restaurant, not opening the menu, and telling the server what I like, the tastes I have, etc, and let the server design my meal.  If I get told that the veggie burger is the best they have, I know to chuck that server/restaurant.  I have been known to ask for a specific server at a restaurant, when I have found the server is really interested in my tastes, and gets to know me well enough to suggest "Nah, you don't want to eat that tonight".

Jeff invited me to call him ahead of time and he would prepare "things" for me.  That is an awesome act from a restaurant cook, and it is also exciting on my part to treated like that.

With that, what you are Jeff are doing there at the restaurant is truly outstanding.  Susan and I wish you all the success there you can handle, just don't expand!

See ya next time............................ Chuck
